Deep groove ball bearing and angular contact ball bearing are representative rolling bearings. With capability of carrying radial load and bidirectional axial load, They are widely used to many applications. They are suitable for conditions of high-speed rotation and low noise and vibration. Sealed bearings with steel plate dust cover or rubber sealing ring are pre-filled with grease. Bearings with stop ring or flange in the outer ring are easy to locate axially, and It is convenient for installation in the shell. The size of the maximum load bearing is the same as that of the standard bearing, but there is a filling groove in the inner and outer rings, which increases the number of balls and the rated load.

Deep groove ball bearing:

Deep groove ball bearing is the most common type of rolling bearing. It mainly bears radial load, and can also bear radial load and axial load at the same time. When it only bears radial load, the contact angle is zero. When the deep groove ball bearing has large radial clearance, it has the performance of angular contact bearing and can bear large axial load. The friction coefficient of the deep groove ball bearing is very small and the limit speed is very high.

Angular Contact Ball Bearing:

There are contact angles between the races and the ball. The standard contact angles are 15 / 25 and 40 degrees. The larger the contact angle is, the greater the axial load capacity is. The smaller the contact angle is, the better the high-speed rotation is. Single row angular contact ball bearing can bear radial load and unidirectional axial load. Matched pair angular contact bearings: DB combination, DF combination and double row angular contact ball bearing can bear radial load and bidirectional axial load. DT combination is suitable for unidirectional axial load When the rating load of large and single bearing is insufficient, ACH type bearing is used for high speed, with small ball diameter and many balls, which are mostly used for machine tool spindle. Generally speaking, angular contact ball bearing is suitable for high speed and high precision rotating conditions.

In terms of structure:

For deep groove ball bearings and angular contact ball bearings with the same internal and external diameter and width, the inner ring size and structure are the same, while the outer ring size and structure are different:

1. Deep groove ball bearings have double shoulders on both sides of the outer groove, while angular contact ball bearings generally have single shoulder;

2. The curvature of outer raceway of deep groove ball bearing is different from that of angular contact ball, the latter is usually larger than the former;

3. The groove position of outer ring of deep groove ball bearing is different from that of angular contact ball bearing. The specific value is considered in the design of angular contact ball bearing, which is related to the degree of contact angle;

In terms of Application:

1. The deep groove ball bearing is suitable for bearing radial force, smaller axial force, axial radial combined load and moment load, while the angular contact ball bearing can bear single radial load, larger axial load (different with contact angle), and the double coupling (different matched pairs) can bear two-way axial load and moment load.

2. The limit speed of angular contact ball bearing with the same size is higher than that of deep groove ball bearing.
